Saxophone Lessons at Music Box School with Logan Strosahl
Improviser, composer, and saxophonist Logan Strosahl brings a wealth of experience to Music Box School, offering high-quality saxophone and music lessons in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Born in Seattle, WA, in 1989, Logan is a graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory (2011) and has received numerous accolades for his musicianship, including selection for the Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Jazz Band (2006-07), the Vail Jazz Workshop (2006), and four soloist awards from the Essentially Ellington Festival (2003-07).
At New England Conservatory, Logan expanded his expertise beyond jazz saxophone, incorporating experimental American music, spectralism, minimalism, and free improvisation into his repertoire. His deep study of counterpoint and polyphonic music from the 16th and 17th centuries (including Byrd, Gibbons, Lawes, and Purcell) has influenced his unique compositional approach. This blend of historical and modern techniques is evident in his original music, including his debut album, Up Go We, released on Sunnyside Records.
Now based in Brooklyn, Logan offers private saxophone lessons at Music Box School, helping students of all ages develop technical skills, musical expression, and improvisational confidence. His teaching method emphasizes technique, musical understanding, and artistic intuition, allowing students to explore various styles—including jazz, classical, and contemporary music—while nurturing their own creativity. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, Logan's tailored approach ensures an engaging and rewarding learning experience.
