FAQ

* WHAT AGE COULD A CHILD START GUITAR LESSONS? Determining the right age for a child to begin guitar lessons depends on individual interest and development. Many experts recommend starting around 6 or 7 years old, when children are often ready to handle the coordination and concentration required. However, some children may show interest earlier, and we’re happy to customize guitar lesson plans to suit younger beginners with shorter, more engaging sessions that spark their passion for guitar playing.

* WHICH GUITAR IS BEST FOR A CHILD OR A BEGINNER? Choosing the right guitar can make all the difference in your learning experience. For most beginners, an acoustic guitar is a great starting point due to its versatility, affordability, and ease of play. If a child or beginner is drawn to the electric sound, a quality electric guitar—ideally with a smaller body or a 3/4 size for kids—can also be an excellent choice. Our guitar instructors are always available to offer personalized recommendations based on your style, comfort, and budget.

* HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY CHILD'S HOME PRACTICE EFFECTIVELY? For parents looking to support home practice, creating a structured and encouraging environment is key. Set aside a dedicated practice time and space, even if it's just 10 to 20 minutes daily, to help build a consistent routine. Celebrate small victories and progress to keep your child motivated, and consider sitting in on practice sessions to offer support and guidance. By establishing clear goals and a positive atmosphere, you can help foster not only musical growth but also a lifelong love of learning and self-discipline.

* HOW DO I PROPERLY TUNE MY GUITAR? Properly tuning your guitar is the first step to producing great sound. The standard tuning for a guitar is E-A-D-G-B-E, starting from the lowest (thickest) string. We recommend using an electronic tuner or a tuning app, especially if you're just starting out. Simply pluck each string gently while adjusting the corresponding tuning peg until the tuner indicates that the note is spot-on. Over time, regular tuning will help develop your ear, making it easier to identify when a string is slightly off, ensuring every chord and note you play sounds its best.
